IQNA – Malak Mohammed Haniyeh, granddaughter of the head of the political bureau of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh, has succumbed to injuries that she sustained in an Israeli strike.

The Israeli strike on April 10 had already claimed lives of Malek’s father as well as two of her uncles, and three of her cousins.

Malak is the seventh martyr in the strike, and the 13th martyr of his immediate family since October 7th, 2023.

The sons, identified by local media as Hazem, Amir, and Muhammad, were targeted in the al-Shati refugee camp while they were traveling in the area to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their family.

The Israeli regime began pounding the besieged Gaza Strip since October 7. Since then, the attacks have resulted in the deaths of nearly 33,500 Gazans, predominantly women and children, as reported by the territory’s health ministry.

In a statement, Haniyeh expressed his gratitude to Allah for the honor bestowed upon his family through the martyrdom of his three sons and grandchildren. He stated, “With this pain and blood, we create hope, a future, and freedom for our people, our cause, and our nation.”

Haniyeh further added that his martyred sons had attained an honor, emphasizing that his children remained with their people in the Gaza Strip and did not leave.

He acknowledged the heavy price paid by Palestinian families in Gaza, with the loss of their children and loved ones. He revealed that he has lost nearly 60 members of his family over the past months in Israeli attacks.

“The occupation believes that by targeting the sons of leaders, it will break the resolve of our people. We say to the occupation that this blood will only make us more steadfast in our principles and adherence to our land,” Haniyeh declared.

He asserted that the enemy will not succeed in their goals. He stated, “What the enemy failed to attain through killing, destruction, and genocide, cannot be achieved in the course of negotiations.”

Haniyeh concluded by saying that the regime is delusional if it thinks it will make the Palestinians change their position by killing their sons.

“The blood of my sons is a sacrifice on the path to liberation of [the Israeli-occupied city of] al-Quds and the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. We will not hesitate and will not retreat, and will continue to tread the path towards liberation of al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque.”
