Celebrations in Karbala Marking Eids of Shaaban
Every year, Shia Muslims and others in different parts of the world celebrate the birthday anniversaries of Imam Hussein (AS), Hazrat Abbas (AS) and Imam Sajjad (AS) on the 3rd, 4th and 5th days of Sha’aban (fall on February 13, 14 and 15 this year).
The Astan’s programs on the auspicious occasions on Tuesday and will continue today and tomorrow, according to al-Kafeel website.
Afzal al-Shami, an official with the Astan, said a large number of pilgrims, religious figures and representatives of parties took part in the celebration on Tuesday.
He said it was addressed by Abbas al-Mousawi, the custodian of the holy shrine, in which he congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the auspicious occasion and elaborated on the virtues of the month of Shaaban.

Al-Mousawi also said that in Shaaban, people should prepare their heart and soul for making the most of the next month, the holy month of Ramadan, by following the teachings and divine messages of the Holy prophet (PBUH).
