Mehdi Moqaddam, the art and cultural deputy of the Mosques’ Centers Coordination Committee, said the plan, dubbed “Mosque; A Quranic Base”, has already been launched in 3760 mosques across the country.

It includes holding regular Quran recitation circles, he noted.

The total number of mosques that are ready to participate in the plan is about 6,000, the official added.

He also said influential Quranic figures of the country are also expected to support and participate in implementing the Quranic plan.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Moqaddam referred to the launch of a data bank of Iranian Quran reciters and said some 2,500 qaris have so far been briefed about the data bank.
