Israeli Genocide in Gaza: Death Toll Tops 8,000

The death toll among Palestinians reached 8,306 — mostly women and minors, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement.

Figures released by health authorities in Gaza on Monday showed some 3,457 children had died in more than three weeks of Israeli bombardment and shelling of the territory.

Jason Lee, Save the Children's country director in the occupied Palestinian territories, said the death toll among children in Gaza may worsen as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.

“One child’s death is one too many, but these are grave violations of epic proportions,” said Lee. “A ceasefire is the only way to ensure their safety. The international community must put people before politics – every day spent debating is leaving children killed and injured. Children must be protected at all times, especially when they are seeking safety in schools and hospitals.”

Israel has been engaged in a ferocious war on Gaza since October 7, when Hamas launched its biggest retaliatory operation against the occupiers in years.

The surprise Operation al-Aqsa Storm came in response to the regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

Fellow Gaza-based resistance movements, including the Islamic Jihad, have contributed to Hamas counter-attacks against Israel since the start of the conflict.

The ongoing Israeli offensive has pushed the Gaza Strip to the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe, with hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians enduring immense suffering and loss.
