TEHRAN (IQNA) – Hamid Shakernejad is a renowned Iranian qari from the holy city of Mashhad.

Born in 1981 in Mashhad, northeast Iran, Hamid Shakernejad began learning Quran recitation at the age of six along with his brother Hamed.

With his father’s encouragements, he attended classes by prominent Quran masters like Seyed Mojtaba, Seyed Javad and Seyed Morteza Sadat Fatemi to learn Waqf and Ibtida (pause and restart), Sawt (melodious voice) and Lahn (rhythm) and Tajweed.

He has traveled to many countries like Turkey, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iraq for Quran recitation.

Shakernejad has also been a member of the Iranian Quranic convoy in the Hajj pilgrimage several times.
