Egyptian Qari Stresses Importance of Identifying, Nurturing Quranic Talents

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Egyptian qari said children’s Quranic talents should be identified and nurtured since an early age.

Sheikh Mamduh Amir, who is a vsisually-impaired qair, told DMS TV channel in an interview that his own talent in memorization and recitation of the Quran was discovered by a teacher.

He said Sheikh Abu Zaid al-Basyouni, who was a Quran memorizer and teacher in his hometown found that he is talented in Quranic fields.

Mamduh said that encouraged and helped by Sheikh al-Basyuni, he managed to memorize the Quran in four months at the age of five.

He also stressed the need for practicing in order to develop one’s talents in different fields, including in memorization and recitation of the Quran.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Mamduh said if God accepts a qari’s recitation of the verses of the Quran, the listeners would also approve of it and enjoy it.
