Abdullah Al-Razihi, a deputy minister of youth and head of the technical committee supervising summer courses, said the courses will be taught by 20,000 instructors.

He said more than 733,000 boys and girls took the Quranic courses last year and they are expected to be more warmly received this year.

The official added that some 1.5 million applicants are predicted to sign up for the summer courses.

They are organized every year with the aim of boosting Yemeni youths’ religious and national identity.

Leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement Abdul Malik Badreddin al-Houthi has on various occasions underscored the need for promoting the teaching of the Quran and spreading cultural activities among the youth.
