Istisqa Prayer Held across Saudi Arabia

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Rain-seeking (Istisqa) prayer was performed in different cities across Saudi Arabia on Monday.

 

The prayer comes following the Prophetic tradition during times of drought and late rain.

In Makkah, the prayer was performed at the Grand Mosque and it was attended by Emir of the Province Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, who is also Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

In Madinah, the prayer was performed at the Prophet's Mosque and it was attended by Prince Faisal bin Salman, Emir of the Region, among other dignitaries.

At Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh, the prayer was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir.

Prayers seeking rainfall were performed in all other regions of the country attended by governors, officials, citizens and Muslim residents.

In their sermons, the preachers urged Muslims to repent their sins, seek forgiveness from Allah, increase good and charitable deeds, and supplicate for rainfall.
