The Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (DPW) has completed the construction work on a new mosque located at Al Madam Area.

The Dhs13 million mosque is fully-equipped to accommodate 1,500 male prayers, along with a separate area for female prayers.

The project was launched under the directives of Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to construct model mosques with unique Islamic architectural styles.

Engineer Mohammed Bin Ya’rouf, Manager of Regional Branches said, “The mosque has a unique Islamic architectural style considering traditional building patterns with a-52-metre minaret. It will be an added value to the series of mosques in Al Madam”. He added, “State-of-the-art equipment techniques were used to rationalise electricity consumption, along with standard insulators to keep chilliness. A-200-lot park area was constructed, considering handicapped car parks.
