Doha Hosts Conference on Islamic Ethics

The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), a member of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS), is opening its second annual international conference on ‘Ethics in a Changing World: Contemporary Perspectives’ today.

 

“We are pleased to introduce the program of CILE’s second annual international conference on “Ethics in a Changing World: Contemporary Perspectives,” CILE website said in a statement released on Thursday, March 13.

The conference will be held on 15th and 16th March at the Auditorium of Georgetown University in Qatar.

It consists of four themes namely, Media, Environment, Psychology and Gender, and the relationship of each to religion and ethics.

The event would be attended by a number of keynote speakers including: Tawakul Karman, Nobel Prize Laureate, Reem Maghribi, Former Arab World Program Leader at Greenpeace, Malik Badri, UNESCO expert in psychology, and Wadah Khanfar, Former Director-General of the Al Jazeera Network.

Other internationally renowned speakers include Dr. Tariq Ramadan, Executive Director of CILE, who will deliver the closing speech on Sunday.

The conference will be broadcasted in live streaming in Arabic, English and French on www.cilecenter.org, CILE website said.
