According to the center, the contest will be held in Central Philippines in the category of Quran recitation.
The Blue Mosque in Taguig City, Manilla, will host the Quranic event on January 27 with the participation of individuals from 17 towns and districts.
The two top winners will qualify for the national Quran contest to be held two months later at the University of the Philippines.
In a recent meeting with Iranian Cultural Attaché Mohammad Jafari Malek, Director of Muslims Affairs Commission of Central Philippines Salsaluna and officials of the Blue Mosque Dar-ol-Quran discussed the organization of the regional contest.
Salsaluna in this meeting hailed the contributions of the Iranian Cultural Center to Quranic activities in the Philippines.
He also hoped another Dar-ol-Quran will soon be launched in Manilla with Iran’s support.
