Quranic Workshop Held in Zimbabwe

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The “Fatemeh Zahra (SA)” Islamic College in Zimbabwe recently hosted a workshop on Quran reading, Tajweed principles and Islamic teachings.

 

 

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the program was organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Harare in cooperation with the Noor Mobin Institute.

Morteza Karimi, a teacher of Islamic studies at the University of Zimbabwe was the workshop instructor.

Islamic injunctions, Quran reading and Tajweed principles, daily prayers, and consultation on religious issues were among the themes of the workshop which included preliminary, intermediate and advanced levels.

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa. Most of the people are Christians as 87 percent of 12.5 million Zimbabweans follow one of the denominations of Christianity.

Muslims make up about one percent of the country’s population.
