According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Quranic events were held with the participation of 150 Quran activists competing in the memorization of the entire Quran and recitation of the Quran.
The center has also held various Quranic educational workshops for Quran teachers of the country, and mounted and participated in mounting Quran exhibitions in India.
It has cooperated in introducing Iranian representatives to take part in Quran competitions and Quranic programs in India and selected and introduced top Indian Quran activists, artists and scholars to represent their country in Quranic events in Iran.
They include Mohammad Anis, a visually-impaired memorizer of the entire Quran who bagged the top prize in the third edition of Iran’s international Quran competition for the visually-impaired.
This edition of the international Quran competition was held by the Iranian Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization in cooperation with ICRO’s deputy of scientific and cultural affairs and Iranian cultural representatives abroad.
Quran activists from 23 countries attended the competition, held from April 22 to 25 at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) in Tehran.
The Iranian Cultural Center has also introduced two Qaris to represent India at Iran’s 35th International Quran Competition in Tehran and the 6th edition of the International Quran Competition for Muslim Students in the holy city of Mashhad.
