According to the Iranian Cultural Center in Dakar, they will take part in the recitation and memorization categories of the international Quran competitions for men, women, and seminary students.
Ms Maymouna Lu will be the West African country’s representative in the women’s contest.
The three competitions, as well as international Quran contests for school students and the visually-impaired will be held in the Iranian capital of Tehran on April 19-26.
Like last year, the Imam Khomeini Mosalla (prayer hall) will be the venue of the competitions this year.
According to the organizers, a total of 300 foreign Quran activists from 83 countries will attend the international Quranic events.
Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually organizes the competitions with the aim of promoting Quranic activities and enhancing unity among Muslims.
