Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad, known as Abdullah Jaqaf died 9 years ago.
He was a very respected figure among Somali people and was known for his piety, good conducts and efforts to promote the Quran in society.
Born in 1915 in central Somalia, he began memorizing the Quran at an early age and also learned Islamic Sharia sciences.
At the age of 20, he became the manager of a Quran memorization school in his hometown and strived on the path of serving the Quran until the last day of his life.
He also played an important role in promoting peace and friendship among different groups of people and tribes in Somalia.
A large number of Somalians who have learned the Quran by heart are graduates of his Quran memorization school.
