Book Reading Competition Planned in Quetta on Eid al-Ghadir

"Misbah al-Quran” Academy of the city will organize the cultural competition for students.

A book titled "The Principles of Belief” by Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, a Shia source of emulation, is the source of questions of the competition.

Those willing to participate in the competition should sign up by August 30.

4 winners of the contest will be awarded in a ceremony to be held on Eid al-Ghadir, which falls on September 20.

The auspicious occasion is annually marked with various ceremonies and rituals on the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah on the Islamic calendar.

On March 10, 632 CE, in the tenth year of Hijra, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) received a revelation from God, ordering him to halt the pilgrims at a pond called Ghadir Khum, a place near Mecca, and to designate Imam Ali (PBUH) as his successor in guiding and ruling Muslims.

Eid al-Ghadir is also known as Eid al-Akbar (the greatest Eid) in Islamic narrations, since Muslims believe that the mission of all the previous messengers of Allah became accomplished on this day.
