In a statement marking the 23rd anniversary of the Resistance and Liberation Day, the movement said enhancing national unity is necessary in order to counter challenges and plots hatched against the resistance, NNA reported.

It also under stressed the need for the continuation of the presence of the army, the nation and the resistance front in the scene in order to confront the enemy.

It went on to say that the recent victory of the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip and recent large-scale military exercises held by the Hezbollah resistance movement in southern Lebanon proved the preparedness of the resistance to enter war and defeat the enemy in all fields.

Hezbollah’s drills were held at a resistance camp near the village of Mleeta in southern Lebanon on Sunday and included several exercises simulating Hezbollah attacks on Israeli outposts in any future battle.

They were staged ahead of the 23rd anniversary of the country’s liberation from the Israeli occupation.

Lebanon marks the Resistance and Liberation Day on May 25 each year. In May 2000, the Israeli regime was forced by Hezbollah to withdraw its troops from Lebanon, ending nearly two decades of occupation of the country’s south.
