Souq Waqif: Busy Days of Qatar’s Traditional Marketplace
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A traditional market with some 250 years of history, Souq Waqif is located in the center of Doha and is now welcoming thousands of foreign tourists who have come to Qatar to watch the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The marketplace sells traditional garments, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs while also being home to several restaurants. The area was renovated in 2006.
