Graduation Ceremony Held for 100 Quran Memorizers in Sudan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony was held in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, to honor 100 university students who have memorized the Quran.

The ceremony was organized by the Ansar al-Sunna al-Muhammadiya Society on the occasion of the students’ graduation from a Quran memorization course held by the society, al-nilin.com website reported.

Abdul Rahman Musa, an official with the society, said the move was aimed at encouraging students and others to learn the Quran by heart,

He thanked all of those who contributed to organizing the Quranic course and appreciated the students who diligently strived to memorize the Quran.

Musa added that the society will continue organizing such courses on Quran memorization and Quranic sciences.

Sudan is a country in Africa and over 97 percent of its population is Muslim.

Quranic activities are prevalent in Sudan and its people are very keen on learning the Quran.

There are Quranic classes called ‘Khalawat’ as well as Quranic schools across the country. There are many people in the country who know the entire Quran by heart.
