TV, Radio Channels in Indonesia’s Ace Required to Broadcast Adhan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Indonesian province of Aceh required all TV and radio channels to broadcast Adhan (call to prayers).
According to the Iranian Cultural Center in Indonesia, the decision was made by the Media Council of the province.
It said during the time of prayers, all TVs and radios must broadcast Adhan.
The decision is aimed at promoting respect for religious values and Islamic laws, the commission said.
It said if TV and radio stations are found to have breached the regulation, they will be fined.
Aceh is a semi-autonomous Indonesian province on the northwest tip of Sumatra Island.
