Top Qaris of Mafaza Quran Competition's Semifinal Stage Selected

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Six Qaris were selected as the top participants in the third round of the semifinal stage of the 12th Mafaza international Quran competition broadcast by Al-Kawthar TV channel.

 

According to the TV channel’s public relations office, the last night of the third round was held on May 22 with the participation of Mohammad Mohaideli from Lebanon, Ala Abdulkarim from Iraq, Mas’ud Nouri from Iran and Hussein Khazali from Norway.

The honorary Qari of the program was Masood Sayyah Gorji, a top Iranian Quran reciter.

Masood Nouri and Saeed Rahimi from Iran, Mahmoud Mohammad Eid and Ahmad Al-Sayyed Al-Ghaytani from Egypt, Sayyed Abbas Mousawi from Germany and Qasim Sabah Nouri from Iraq were the winners of this round of the competition.

It was supervised by Quran experts including Mohammad Ali Dehdashti from Iran, Taha Abdulwahhab from Egypt, Sheikh Basim Al-Abedi from Iraq and Adil Khalil from Lebanon.

The phone-in Quran competition titled "Inna lil-Muttaqina Mafaza” (Indeed, for the righteous is attainment- Holy Quran, 78:31) begins on the first night of Ramadan every year.

The fourth round of the semifinal stage of the competition started on May 23.

Those who reach the finals will be invited to the TV channel’s headquarters to compete in this round.

The finals will be held a night before Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Inna lil-Muttaqina Mafaza is the Muslim world’s biggest live Quran recitation competition aired by Al-Kawthar, an Arabic-language channel within the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting’s World Service.
