Quranic Sciences Faculty Planned in Jeddah

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The University of Jeddah plans to launch a faculty of Quranic sciences, chancellor of the university said.

Adnan al-Hamid said it will be opened in the near future, al-Mawatin website reported.

Speaking on the sidelines of a student Quran contest, he said it is meant to enhance research in Quranic fields.

He also hailed the Quran competition, saying the university organized it as part of efforts to promote Quranic activities.

The contest began at University of Jeddah on Sunday with the participation of 500 students from 21 universities and higher education centers of Jeddah province.
