TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 23rd edition of a regional competition on Quran memorization for disabled children will be held from December 2 to 4 in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia.

According to Aljazeera website, Saudi Arabia’s Association for Disabled Children will organize the Quran competition.

It will be held with the participation of 96 girls and boys from the Arab country and other member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.

The secretariat of the competition announced that the participants, including 52 boys and 44 girls, have been selected from among 155 applicants.

Abdul Rahman Al-Sabihayn, the secretary of the competition said the number of children willing to attend the Quranic event is rising each year, hailing it as an indication of the establishment of the competition as an educational program in the society.

It is also a sign of parents’ awareness who give their disabled children the opportunity to participate in social activities, he added.
